Go with me to the Bible, in the book of (Matthew 25:14-28)

14. For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling into a far country, who gave his servants and delivered to them his goods.

And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.

Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.

17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also.

18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money.

19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

20 “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’

21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.

22 He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.

23. His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

24 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed.

25. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’

26 But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed.

So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest.

28 So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

Yes, once again I will be taking you on the topic Discovering and maximizing your potentials.

WHAT IS POTENTIAL?

Potential (s) means unrealized talent, dormant ability, untapped strength, your hidden abilities.

I use the word potentials because you can have more than one unrealized talents as written in our Bible text.

Every person on Earth has potentials.

Everyone has that one thing that they are naturally good at and naturally passionate about. It is then up to you and I to realise or discover that potentials and begin to maximize them.

HOW DO I DISCOVER MY POTENTIAL(S)

In realising your potentials you need to ask yourself the following questions

1. What is that thing/skill that you do effortlessly?

2. What is that thing you do uniquely that people recommend you for?.

What is that thing/skill that you cannot do without for at least two days?

4. What is that thing/skill you enjoy doing even without without being paid for?

By observing and answering this question s you would discover your potentials and turn it into talent i.e turn it into good use to the Glory of God.

BENEFITS OF MAXIMIZING YOUR POTENTIALS

1. Discovering and maximizing your potentials makes you recognized. Yes people will identify you by your used potentials/talents.

ii. The second benefits of maximizing your potentials is that it qualifies you for recommendations. Yes, people will recommend you when there is a need for such potentials to be used in any occasion, church service or ceremonies.

TRAITS THAT WILL NOT ALLOW POTENTIALS TO BE MAXIMIZED

i. Unclear focus

ii. Inconsistency:

You need to be consistent in order to enhance your potential

iii. Ungratefulness

iv. Pride: The Bible says pride goeth before destruction. If you read through our Bible text you will discover the third servant was given one talent, instead of him to profit with it, he went and buried it. (Matthew 25:24) The spirit of pride that was inside him showed up. He wasn't grateful for the one he was given. A proud man or woman will not maximize his or her potentials. A proud man cannot be recommended even if he or she finally discovers his or her potentials.

v. Self Glory: Ascribing Glory that belong to God to yourself

vi. I-have-arrive-spirit can also hinder potentials from being fully maximized.

HOW DO I MAXIMIZE MY GOD GIVEN POTENTIAL (S)

1. Establishing and building a relationship with God.

Yes, if you don't have a relationship with Jesus, discovering your potential would be a waste of time cos the devil will help you misuse it.

2. After discovering your potential s, look for opportunities to display and MAXIMIZE it. Share your potentials, no potential exist for itself.

3. Don't assume people should know what you carry at first instance, use your potentials so people can see it. No potential/talent exist for itself. You cannot have talent for yourself alone. It is meant to be MAXIMIZE.

4. Move closer to people that will help you harness and maximize your potentials.

NOTE:

No one will help you bribg your potentials to limelight except God and yourself. Build a strong relationship with God so he can use you and help you MAXIMIZE your potential s to his Glory.

Prayer points

I. O Lord help me discover my true potentials and help me to maximize them according to your plans and purposein for my life

2. Please Lord, make me your sound perfect instrument to be used by you in Jesus name.
